Linda Sandow CV

Linda Sandow is a Fine Art Photographer specializing in infrared, existential/metaphorical and abstract photography. She expressed her artistic talents early, becoming an accomplished musician, playing Principal Flute with the Canadian Opera, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet. Moving on, she developed more analytically, involved with software development for traders at 2 major financial institutions. Then she turned to photography.  Her photography blends her artistic side with her technological precision. The results are photographs that capture moods and feelings, drawing the viewer into the scene, beyond what is literally there on first hand observation.

In 2017, Linda joined the Artist Roster of Soho Photo Gallery in downtown NYC.  She exhibited her series "Energies From Within" in September 2018 for her first solo show at the gallery.  She exhibited her second solo show "Portals To Understanding" in December 2019 and her third solo show "So Many Journeys" in February 2021.  She exhibited her fourth solo show "Moving To A New Space" in September 2021 as part of the gallery-wide show "Abstractions" which she also curated and designed.  Finally to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 911 she has curated, processed and printed a gallery wide show of images made by the FDNY and NYPD forces to honor out heroes.

Ms. Sandow currently lives in New York City where she photographs and exhibits in galleries throughout the Northeast US.  Linda's images have been selected for exhibition in 32 juried group exhibitions since 2006. She has received numerous international awards, the most recent being a Finalist in the PhotoLucida Critical Mass 2018 List of 200.  She has been published in magazines, developed 2 books and her images have been used for two book covers, most recently by the Carolina Academic Press.    Her work is held in private collections internationally and can be viewed on her website: www.lindasandow.com and on Instagram: lindasandow99.

Linda holds a bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from The Juilliard School and an M.B.A. in Finance from N.Y.U. Stern School of Business.
